New Bedford Harbor Dredge / Capping
New Bedford, Massachusetts

• Wood 1 Dredge removed the top of the proposed new CAD cell #1 using a “CableArm” environmental clamshell-style bucket

• Removed material was loaded into split hull dump scows for disposal into the Borrow Pit

• After removing the top of the CAD, 85,000 CY of sand was dredged, completing the CAD cell construction

• Excavated material was successfully used for the EPA’s pilot PCB Underwater Capping Project in the New Bedford Harbor

• All work performed met or exceeded the environmental constraints specific to this project
