Construction Health & Safety Technician

Large East Coast marine contractor seeks experienced safety compliance representatives for large scale project slated for Hudson River in 2009. Desired candidate should have minimum two years experience in construction safety compliance including air monitoring, CPR/First aid training, hazardous material handling safety measures, 40 hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and/or 30 hour OSHA construction safety training or equivalent and be willing to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends) and be willing to travel. Preferred candidate(s) should have BS in engineering or health and safety discipline, be computer literate with good knowledge of Word and Excel and have experience with marine construction and marine safety.

Assistant QC Manager

Large East Coast Marine Contractor seeks construction based quality control professional to assist Quality Control Systems Manager in large marine project slated for the Upper Hudson River in 2009 with overall project duration of 7-10 months. Ideal candidate shall be a degreed engineer, experienced in construction or marine work, be able to manage the compilation, collation and review of multiple field reports on a daily basis, be able to communicate with a range of personnel from construction managers and dredging superintendents to Owner's representatives, be familiar with construction specifications, be computer literate and be willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Quality Assurance Engineer

Large Marine Contractor seeks construction technician/engineer to assist Quality Control Systems Manager with document management on large marine environmental remediation project slated for the Upper Hudson River in 2009. Ideal candidate shall be either a degreed engineer, an engineering technician or an experienced craftsman with experience in: quality control or marine construction and be able to interpret specifications and plans and document compliance with daily logs/reports.
Candidate must have high school diploma though maritime or engineering school graduate preferred, co-op students also considered. Must have excellent computer skills include Microsoft Office (word & Excel) with Adobe Acrobat experience highly desireable. Must be willing to work flexible hours (including night shifts).

Port Engineer

Large East Coast Marine Contractor seeks experienced marine industry professional with experience in marine equipment maintenance, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, diesel engine repair etc. to manage equipment records, oversee equipment maintenance and maintain budget costs for fleet of marine equipment targeted for work on Hudson River in 2009.
High School diploma required, degree in mechanical or related engineering preferred, Maritime Academy graduate a plus.

Field Engineer

Large Marine Contractor seeks experienced engineers in the marine field for large 2009 area project. Ideal candidate should have B.S. in civil engineering, ocean engineering, construction management, surveying or related dredging, marine construction, surveying work experience. Individual will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment during operations, be able to document production, be responsible for daily quality control and quality assurance monitoring & reporting.

Scheduler/Project Controls Engineer

Large East Coast marine contractor seeks experienced scheduler/project controls engineer for large scale project slated for Hudson River in 2009. Ideal candidate should have B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 5-10 years experience in Scheduling and Project Controls.

Qualified candidate must have hands-on experience in CPM scheduling using Primavera, preferably P3 or more recent software. Relevant experience in scheduling, schedule/cost control, reporting, forecasting and analyzing of resource-loaded construction schedule. Interface with Project Team on planning and scheduling functions; extensive financial and progress reporting; and, therefore, excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must. Prior experience in the commercial construction industry preferred.

Project Controller

Large East Coast marine and civil contractor seeks project controller for large marine/environmental project with overall staffing between construction labor and management personnel of 300+/- people. Project duration of 8-12 months.
Responsibilities: direct control of the accounting operations for the project. Position will be responsible for the compliance with corporate policies and the processing of all project costs including: payroll, accounts payable and equipment acquisitions. Will be responsible for supervision of all a/p and payroll personnel. The position reports to both the Project Director and the company's corporate controller.
Qualifications:
BS/BA in accounting/finance
5+ years of experience (experience in construction industry preferred)
Database construction software knowledge
High energy level due to project volume of $10-20M/month
Supervisory experience
Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Accounts Payable Professional

Large marine and civil contractor is seeking an accounts payable person for the accounting department for large, 2009 area project.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of accounts payable from input to payment; records management for the company; review and approval / denial of check requests; support accounting with reconciliation issues; special projects assigned by Controller/Supervisor
Qualifications/Requirements:
Strong knowledge of both debits and credits; General Ledger experience;
Associates degree in accounting preferred; 4-5 or more years of accounts payable experience; experience with accounting software & generally accepted accounting principles; excellent communication and multi-tasking abilities; detail oriented individual with an excellent work ethic
