Wetlands Sediment Remediation Project
Wayland, Massachusetts

• Excavated over 5,000 CY of PCB impacted wetland
sediments

•Sediments were dewatered in-situ and, after excavation,
were processed through a pug mill

            •Amended as necessary with a cement mixture for
            offsite transport to a hazardous disposal facility


• Cashman used land mats to create a temporary roadway,
aqua dams to serve as temporary flood mitigation
measures, and erosion control measures to ensure
compliance with erosion sediment control requirements

• Excavated areas were backfilled, with manufactured
wetland soil/sediment, to pre-excavation topography

• Wetlands were restored via seeding and replanting
specified mixtures and plants
