History
Our history in construction dates back back to the late 1800’s when Jay Cashman's relatives constructed the iconic Provincetown Monument at the tip of Cape Cod. From an early age, Jay shared the same enthusiasm, passion, and know how for the business by turning derelict city parcels in Boston into neighborhood victory gardens. The company quickly evolved into performing marine construction in the ‘70’s after the Blizzard of ’78 destroyed seawalls and jetties along the coast. Soon thereafter, Cashman was performing multi-million dollar projects such as a new marine facility for the Martha’s Vineyard Steamship Authority. In the early 1990's our firm performed the challenging task of installing 55 effluent outfall diffusers on the ocean floor, nine miles from the shore.
Cashman's successes in the 1990's allowed us to take on projects such as Boston's Central Artery Tunnel project and Spectacle Island construction in the early 2000's. In the past ten years, we have continued to complete challenging heavy civil and marine construction projects while growing into a leader in the dredging industry. Our vision for the future also led us to start Patriot Renewabales -- a wind farm development company with two operating projects in Maine.
Today, the company is regarded as one of the pre-eminent contractors in Heavy Civil, Marine Construction, and Dredging disciplines. With over 40 years of experience, hundreds of experts, and a comprehensive portfolio of services, Cashman looks forward to helping clients create the next generation of modern infrastructure.
