We are seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to lead maintenance and troubleshooting at a small GE 1.5 turbine site in Freedom, Maine and to help with the operation and maintenance of our other wind energy facilities in Western Maine. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong electrical and mechanical skills and experience in wind energy operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage routine and unplanned maintenance at Beaver Ridge Wind (3-turbine site in Freedom, ME) and provide technical support across Spruce Mountain, Saddleback Ridge, and Canton Mountain Wind Energy facilities.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in variable pitch and variable speed turbines and balance of plant equipment.
- Supervise contractors, site technicians, and other employees, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
- Lead a team to perform balance of plant maintenance, including torquing/tensioning anchor bolts and operating heavy equipment (e.g., snowcats, forklifts, snowmobiles, ATVs) in mountainous terrain.
- Utilize computer-based tools to monitor and report on turbine production, availability, and maintenance.
- Work closely with remote operations teams and coordinate project status updates with Patriot Renewables staff.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and best practices in all site operations.
- Provide on-call 24-hour coverage as part of a rotational schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, preferably with wind turbine systems.
- Proficiency with high-voltage electrical systems, mechanical systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Wind turbine maintenance experience is preferred (GE 1.5 SLE turbines are a plus).
- NFPA 70E or other relevant certifications are strongly preferred.
- A high school diploma or GED is required, and technical or vocational training is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Willingness to travel to various sites and attend off-site training as needed.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs and vertical ladders up to 300 feet regularly.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Adequate visual acuity (including depth perception and color differentiation) and hearing ability to use telephones and radios.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces and at significant heights, often in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to complete required safety training
