Maintenance Assistant

Jay Cashman, Inc. is looking for an entry-level, full-time Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This is an ideal opportunity for a reliable, hard-working self-starter with strong handyman and mechanical skills to provide general maintenance of the properties within the Cashman real estate portfolio. This will include working on the grounds, boats, equipment and property operating systems in Boston, Quincy and on Cape Cod. The Maintenance Assistant will report to the Executive Property Manager and assist with a wide variety of tasks. The right candidate will be a problem-solver who takes initiative and can “think on their feet!” Reliability, Flexibility and Confidentiality are a must!

General Responsibilities

-Assist with the operations, maintenance, repair, and upkeep of property residence, outbuildings, boats, docks and fences

    -Operate and service boats, equipment, machinery, and tools

    -Fleet maintenance

    -Running errands

    -Shoveling/Snowplowing parking lot

    -Light groundskeeping and general maintenance of properties

    Provide general handyman skills for maintenance and minor repairs to residence, outbuildings and pool

    Qualifications and skills:

    • 1-3 years experience
    • Experience using power tools and landscaping equipment, including small tractors, woodchipper, and lawn mower
    • Self-motivated, ability to work well with limited supervision and as part of a team

    Must have the ability to work under conditions that allow for changing priorities

    • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills

    Employment is conditional on successfully passing Drug & Alcohol Testing and background check

    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
    • Must be 21 years old or over with a Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States

    Rate of Pay: Commensurate with Experience
