Cashman Preload Cryogenics (CPC) is a premier designer and constructor of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage tanks and facilities. CPC specializes in precast, prestressed concrete technology for these storage tanks. CPC is focused on the North American and Caribbean markets, however, has completed projects across the world. CPC is looking for the right individuals to join a fast-growing company that can help maintain a high level of quality.

Position Overview

The Project Engineer II role would start from the Front End Engineering Development (FEED) project phase and continue project progression through the procurement, construction, and commissioning phases. Projects include new construction, modification, maintenance, and replacement projects. Scopes for each project are unique and can entail storage tank specific or can include full facility scopes.

The Project Engineer II will work with the design engineer(s), Project Manager(s), and key subcontractors to manage all technical aspects of the projects. It is the Project Engineer II’s responsibility to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of project technical deliverables. The Project Engineer II may also be involved in other project execution tasks such as procurement, estimating, and project financials.

Prior LNG or refrigerated liquid experience is a plus, but not necessary.

Essential Duties / Functions:

  • Office Engineering:
    • Perform takeoffs from design drawings
    • Review and understand project specifications and requirements
    • Generate proposals, responses, etc. based on client requirements
    • Ensure timely submission of deliverables by in-house and third-party engineers
    • Development of subcontractor / vendor scopes of work
    • Generate and coordinate Request for Quotations (RFQ) for subcontractors/vendors based on design drawings
    • Coordinate with subcontractors/vendors for quotations based on design drawings
    • Prepare and review of contracts and purchase orders
    • Generate change orders reviewed by Project Manager
    • Document Management
  • Field Operations:
    • Provide field support and supervise subcontractor / vendor operations
    • Interpret drawings and specifications for field crews and craft
    • Prepare work plans and work packages
    • Order and schedule material deliveries
  • Estimating:
    • Review project specifications and plans
    • Prepare material take-offs (MTOs)
    • Assist with preparation and review of estimate

Minimum Education Requirements of the Position:

  • Bachelor's degree or greater in Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering or a Project Management Degree

Minimum Experience required of the position:

  • Minimum of 3-7 years engineering or construction experience required

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:

  • Organized, planning skills, able to manage multiple activities and programs in a timely fashion and with a high degree of accuracy. Able to meet work deadlines
  • Project development, contracting, execution, and closeout / transfer to operations
  • Planning and budgeting
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and effective / efficiency goal achievement
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skill
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, MS Project, and P6
  • Drafting (AutoCAD or Revit) skills preferred

Location:

  • Main Office (Quincy, MA) (about 25% of time)
  • Travel to project sites for extended periods (about 75% of time)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in a wide-ranging climates and environments
