Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dredge Project Manager to oversee major marine construction and dredging projects valued at $20M+. This individual will lead all aspects of project execution, including planning, budgeting, team management, and stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in heavy civil marine construction, environmental dredging, and infrastructure projects along the Eastern Seaboard and Caribbean.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the execution of large-scale marine construction, dredging, and environmental remediation projects.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery.
- Coordinate with federal, state, and private clients to meet contractual obligations.
- Lead and mentor project teams, including engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors.
- Ensure strict compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks, adapting project strategies as needed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Oversee contract negotiations, cost control, and progress reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 10+ years of project management experience in large-scale marine construction, dredging, or environmental projects.
- Experience managing projects greater than $20M in value.
- Willingness to relocate for long-term projects along the Eastern Seaboard and Caribbean.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with federal, state, and private client contracts.
- Proficiency in construction management software, scheduling tools, and budgeting processes.
- Strong understanding of environmental compliance, permitting, and regulatory standards.
- An engineering or construction management degree is preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and gangways as needed for site visits.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and movement across uneven terrain.
- Work in confined spaces and at heights as necessary for inspections.
- Lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Required to wear PPE, including a Type III PFD, while on active job sites, which increases physical strain in hot weather conditions.
- Exposure to extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain, during site activities.
- Ability to travel and work extended hours, nights, and weekends as project schedules require.
Work Environment
- Marine construction, dredging, and heavy civil project sites, including barges, vessels, and shoreline facilities.
- Office-based planning and administrative work when not on-site.
- Exposure to noise, diesel exhaust, oil, fuel, and other environmental factors.
- Frequent travel and overnight stays based on project location and needs.
Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 to $205,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
