Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Location: Quincy, MA (In-Office)
Company Overview
Cashman Dredging and Marine Contracting Company, LLC is a leading provider of dredging and marine construction services throughout the United States, the Caribbean, and South America. With a strong legacy of operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and innovation, Cashman delivers complex marine and environmental projects that demand precision, expertise, and forward-thinking solutions.
As part of our commitment to sound financial management across a growing portfolio of companies, Cashman is seeking a Financial Analyst to strengthen our cash flow forecasting and financial planning capabilities. This role will play a key part in helping leadership understand current financial performance and anticipate future cash needs across the organization.
Position Summary
The Financial Analyst will focus primarily on cash flow forecasting and analysis across multiple Cashman companies. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with a degree in business, finance, or accounting who is looking to build deep expertise in how cash moves through a business — from project billings and collections to vendor payments and capital expenditures.
Working directly with the CFO and finance leadership, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for building and maintaining cash flow models, monitoring cash positions, and analyzing the full cash cycle to support informed, timely decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to corporate finance within a dynamic, project-driven organization where cash flow management is central to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and continuously improve short-term and long-term cash flow forecasting models across multiple Cashman entities.
- Track and analyze the full cash cycle: project billings, collections, accounts receivable aging, vendor payments, subcontractor disbursements, payroll, and capital expenditures.
- Monitor daily and weekly cash positions and flag variances against forecasts.
- Analyze historical cash flow patterns to identify trends, seasonal fluctuations, and potential risks.
- Reconcile forecasted vs. actual cash performance and refine models based on learnings.
- Support the CFO in preparing cash flow projections for leadership, lenders, and bonding companies.
- Collaborate with project managers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable teams to gather data and improve forecast accuracy.
- Track key cash cycle metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Days Payable Outstanding (DPO), and working capital trends.
- Prepare clear, concise reports, dashboards, and presentations for senior leadership.
- Gather, organize, and interpret financial and operational data from multiple internal sources and systems.
- Assist with financial reporting, analysis, and special projects across Cashman companies as needed.
- Support broader financial planning and analysis (FP&A) initiatives as they arise.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics (recent graduates and candidates with up to two years of experience welcome).
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity about how cash flows through a business.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data modeling); experience with financial modeling is a plus.
- Exposure to or interest in ERP systems, accounting software, or business intelligence tools is a plus.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities across entities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal — able to translate data into clear takeaways for leadership.
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work across multiple companies and business functions.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

The role is primarily based in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The employee must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Schedule
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Quincy, Massachusetts. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional additional hours required to support month-end, quarter-end, or other reporting deadlines.
