Renewable Wind Energy

We permitted, built, own, and operate more renewable wind energy than anyone in New England.

The need for clean alternative energy sources and the preservation and restoration of our planet was a call to action for Jay M. Cashman. The CASHMAN Family of Companies has committed to protect, preserve, and restore our environment for future generations. As part of our mission to conduct all of our operations in the most environmentally responsible and sustainable manner and reducing or eliminating our environmental impact, CASHMAN is heavily invested and involved in New England’s renewable energy industry.

Our wind farms began in 2006, with the construction of Mass. Maritime Academy’s single turbine. Patriot Renewables LLC, a CASHMAN company, develops, owns, and operates commercial-scale wind energy facilities in New England. Patriot is currently operating four wind farms in the state of Maine, with plans for more. Currently involved with a number of renewable energy projects throughout the United States, Patriot Renewables LLC is positioned to provide renewable energy to about 20,000 homes every year.

As of July 1, 2020, through the generation of clean wind energy, Patriot Renewables' Maine projects have avoided the equivalent of 1,008,480,472 lbs. of CO2 emissions, or the equivalent of 1,135,084,485 miles driven by the average passenger car.

*Based on a rate of 808 lbs/MWh, from the 2015 ISO New England Electric Generator Air Emissions Report, reduced by 5.3% to account for integration inefficiencies estimated on March 11, 2015, Maine Renewable Energy Association White Paper "Analysis of Estimated Emission Benefits of Maine Wind Farm Generation", and entered into the equivalency calculator at https://www.epa.gov/energy/greenhouse-gas-equivalencies-calculator.
