Bal Harbour Beach Erosion and Hurricane Protection

On behalf of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Jacksonville District, CASHMAN was contracted to conduct the beach renourishment of Bal Harbour, Florida. This project involved the compliance of beach sections specific to the project plans and specifications, environmental and biological monitoring, as well as endangered species monitoring at the borrow site. CASHMAN removed approximately 225,000-yd3 of material. Sand was placed on the beach at Bal Harbour located north of Miami Beach and South of Bakers Haulover Inlet.


PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Beach renourishment included the compliance of beach sections specific to the project plans and specifications.
  • Directly oversaw environmental and biological monitoring including turbidity at the fill and borrow areas, as well as endangered species monitoring at the borrow site.
  • Removed approximately 225,000-yd3 of material.
