Staff Accountant

Prominent Civil and Marine Contracting Company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. Headquartered in Quincy, MA, this position will support the Accounting Department, assisting with compiling data and preparing monthly financial analysis reports. The ideal candidate must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple project simultaneously, prioritize, and meet deadlines.  This role requires a self- starter with excellent communication skills who can excel in a fast- paced, high energy, rapidly growing organization.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain Accounting Records for three entities
  • AP & AR functions for the entities
  • Bank Account Reconciliations
  • Daily Cash Reconciliation
  • G/L Account Reconciliation as requested by Controller
  • Assist Controller with Month-End and Year-End closing
  • Analyze and verify financial information as requested by CFO
  • Special Projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • 1-3 Accounting Experience, Construction Accounting a plus
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and computerized Accounting Software
  • Quicken and Viewpoint Construction Software experience a plus
  • Team Player with ability to work independently
  • Willingness to perform a wide range of tasks
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Must Be authorized to work in the United States
